Intermediate Boxing Classes – Super Sweet Science Boxing

Our Intermediate Boxing Classes are designed for students who already understand the basics — stance, guard, footwork, and core punches — and are ready to refine their technique, sharpen their timing, and develop the mindset of a real fighter.

Led by Coach Jason “The Boxing Nerd”, these classes take your foundation to the next level through structured technical training, controlled partner work, and advanced conditioning. You’ll gain the skills, confidence, and composure to handle higher levels of sparring and ring performance.

⚡ Controlled Sparring Preparation

Light, supervised drills introduce you to reading an opponent’s movement, timing exchanges, and staying composed under pressure — safely and progressively.

Our Intermediate Boxing Class Structure

Each class combines technique instruction, mitt work, light drills, and cardio-boxing exercises — giving you the perfect mix of skill learning and sweat-driven fitness.

Class Structure

  • Level: Beginner Graduates to Experienced Amateurs

This class is designed specifically for first-time boxers and newer students who want to learn the fundamentals in a structured, supportive environment. You don’t need any experience — we’ll teach you everything from stance and footwork to defense, timing, and confidence-building drills. If you’ve never thrown a punch before, this is the perfect place to start.

  • Format: Small Group (Maximum 8 Students per Coach)

We keep our class sizes intentionally small — no more than eight students per instructor — so every participant receives personal attention, technical feedback, and correction. You’ll train in a semi-private environment that allows for both group motivation and individual improvement, ensuring quality instruction in every round.

  • Location: Modern Warriors Gym – New Westminster, BC

Train at Modern Warriors Gym, a top-tier combat facility equipped with a regulation-size boxing ring, heavy bags, mitt stations, and conditioning space. The gym provides a professional yet supportive atmosphere ideal for technical progression. Located in New Westminster, it’s easily accessible from Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, and Coquitlam.

  • Duration: 60-minute classes

Each class runs approximately 60 minutes, combining warm-up drills, technique breakdowns, mitt work, and conditioning. The format keeps energy high and learning progressive — you’ll leave every session feeling stronger, sharper, and more skilled.

  • Schedule: Morning, Evening & Weekend Options

We run multiple intermediate sessions weekly to suit all schedules — including early-morning, after-work, and weekend classes. This flexibility helps you stay consistent, refine your skills, and fit your boxing journey into a busy lifestyle.

  • Equipment Provided & Recommended Gear

Basic gear (gloves and wraps) is available for occasional use, but we recommend that intermediate students bring their own equipment for hygiene and comfort. Coach Jason can help you select gloves, wraps, mouthguards, and headgear appropriate for your skill level and training intensity.

  • How do I know if I’m ready for the intermediate class?

If you’re comfortable with the basic punches, defense, and footwork, and can hold good form through rounds of mitt or bag work, you’re ready for the intermediate program.

Yes, but it’s controlled and optional. Sparring is introduced gradually and always supervised by Coach Jason to ensure safety and learning focus.
