Class Structure

  • Level: Absolute Beginner to Early Novice

    This class is designed specifically for first-time boxers and newer students who want to learn the fundamentals in a structured, supportive environment. You don’t need any experience — we’ll teach you everything from stance and footwork to defense, timing, and confidence-building drills. If you’ve never thrown a punch before, this is the perfect place to start.

  • Format: One-on-One Personalized Coaching

    We keep our class sizes intentionally small — no more than eight students per instructor — so every participant receives personal attention, technical feedback, and correction. You’ll train in a semi-private environment that allows for both group motivation and individual improvement, ensuring quality instruction in every round.

  • Location: Modern Warriors Gym – New Westminster, BC

    Tailored pad work, defensive drills, and cardio/strength circuits designed to enhance both performance and endurance.

  • Duration: 60-Minute Private Sessions

    Each class runs approximately 60 minutes, combining warm-up drills, technique breakdowns, mitt work, and conditioning. The format keeps energy high and learning progressive — you’ll leave every session feeling stronger, sharper, and more skilled.

  • Schedule: Flexible to Fit You

    We offer multiple beginner class time slots throughout the week, including early-morning, after-work, and weekend sessions. This flexibility makes it easy for both students and working professionals to stay consistent without disrupting their daily schedule.

  • Equipment Provided for Beginners

    First-time boxers can borrow gloves and wraps during their initial lessons. Coach Jason will also recommend high-quality gear suited to your size and comfort.

    Just comfortable gym clothes, a water bottle, and a positive attitude. Gloves and wraps are available for first-time use.

  • Will I spar in beginner sessions?

    No. Sparring is introduced only once you have mastered the basics and feel comfortable with defensive control.

    Most students see noticeable progress within 3–5 sessions, especially in confidence, coordination, and technique.
